Versova, a leading egg producer, seeks a Flock Specialist I to support barn operations and poultry welfare. You will perform unskilled to semi-skilled tasks per instructions, ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF, OSHA standards, while working under general supervision.

The role emphasizes physical tasks, animal care, and record-keeping in a farm environment, with evening and weekend requirements and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of general work experience.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in varying climates.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on production demand.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fair and ethical treatment of livestock and uphold industry standards.
• Follow USDA, FDA, and other government regulations.
• Check and maintain feeders, waterers, and poultry equipment.
• Clean poultry houses, pens, feeders, water devices, and egg transfers.
• Record poultry mortality and flock information.
• Fix egg jams and replace burnt-out light bulbs.
• Remove dead birds and assist with blitz traps.
• Clean water and feed areas and sweep walkways.
• Maintain lighting and ventilation for poultry.
• Catch loose birds and ensure facilities are well-maintained.
