Job summary

City of Raleigh North Carolina is seeking a Pottery Studio Coordinator for Pullen Arts Center. The role involves loading/unloading kilns, documenting firings, mixing glazes, and keeping the studio clean, safe, and well-organized while supporting instruction for adults and youth.

You will also help plan studio socials, create content for newsletters, assist with clay deliveries and inventory, and ensure safety in the kiln and glaze rooms.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience working with clay.
• 2+ years managing a pottery studio (home or community).
• Understanding of glaze chemistry and clay bodies.
• Knowledge of wheel throwing and hand-building techniques.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload student and patron pottery into/out of studio kilns timely and safely.
• Document all firings and perform basic studio maintenance.
• Mix glazes and keep the studio clean, organized, and safe.
• Create content for monthly studio user newsletter and assist with socials.
• Assist with clay deliveries and inventory management.
• Support instruction in both adult and youth pottery classrooms.
