Job summary

Pullen Arts Center in Raleigh, NC is seeking Teaching Artists with a passion for pottery to guide young artists through hands-on classes. You will create lesson plans, prep supplies, and maintain a safe studio while encouraging creativity.

You will develop curricula, adapt to diverse student needs, and collaborate with staff to deliver an inclusive, engaging experience in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
• Develop engaging pottery curricula for youth classes.
• Provide an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Engage students with varied skill levels respectfully.
• Communicate effectively with front desk staff and supervisors.
• Maintain studio safety and follow PRCR training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Interact with participants in a positive, caring, and respectful manner throughout program hours.
• Create lesson plans and communicate supplies with staff.
• Prepare studio with equipment and return items to storage.
• Maintain a happy, safe environment and supervise participants.
• Enforce safety rules and policies of the Arts Center.
• Assist in prepping student work between classes and ordering supplies.
• Help ensure studio operates safely and efficiently; complete required training.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
