Job summary

R.D. Offutt Farms and Syngenta invites motivated students enrolled in an accredited agriculture program to join our internship to gain hands-on experience on real projects—from crop development to nutrient and sustainability topics.

You will work with industry experts and university faculty, complete an agronomy project, present findings, and develop professional skills in a collaborative environment at our Minnesota location.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an approved agriculture program.
• Maintain acceptable GPA and attendance.
• Student must proactively communicate with management and provide transcripts after each quarter/semester.
• Agriculture experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to assemble and perform some maintenance on equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with crop development, insect, weed and disease scouting, soil sampling, and petiole sampling.
• Complete an individual agronomy project before the internship ends.
• Learn from industry experts from R.D. Offutt Farms, Syngenta and university faculty.
• Present project findings to leadership (15-minute presentation and Q&A).
• Receive presentation training through Syngenta.
• Maintain a clean work area and properly handle tools and equipment.
• Communicate solutions to management and teammates.
• Work independently as well as with others while following safety rules.
