Job summary

R.D. Offutt Farms in partnership with Syngenta and University professors offers an agronomy internship for students pursuing agriculture. You will gain hands-on experience on real projects, including crop development, scouting, soil and leaf sampling, and an individual agronomy project.

Compensation ranges from $16 to $19 per hour. Training and development opportunities are provided, with exposure to industry experts and potential leadership presentations.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an approved agriculture program or equivalent as stated by the sponsor.
• Maintain acceptable GPA and attendance while in the program.
• Provide transcripts to management after each quarter or semester as required.
• Adhere to the institution's and company's policies while interning.
• Agriculture experience preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with crop development, insect, weed and disease scouting, soil sampling and petiole sampling.
• Complete an individual agronomy project before the internship ends and perform field problem solving.
• Learn from industry experts from R.D. Offutt Farms, Syngenta and university faculty.
• Present project to leadership through a 15‑minute presentation and Q&A.
• Maintain a clean work area and operate tools and equipment safely.
