Job summary

EVH Womens Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Postpartum Unit (Nights). You will work under supervision of a RN to deliver care, perform vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and assist with discharge preparation.

Preferred CNA training or nursing clinical rotation, and current BLS certification. Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience is valued. Shift includes weekend rotation with 32 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred or nursing clinical rotation in medical/surgical nursing preferred.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider by American Heart Association.
• Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with delivering patient care on Antepartum unit.
• Take vital signs, EKGs, collect specimens, assist with bathing, turning, ambulating, and hourly rounding.
• Assist with Foley catheter removal, IV adapter removal, and specimen collection.
• Support patient care plan implementation and discharge prep.
• Contribute to unit safety and high-quality patient experience.
