Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the Antepartum unit. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will deliver direct patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with basic procedures, and help prepare patients for discharge.

This full-time role offers night hours (2300-0730) with weekend rotation, comprehensive benefits, education support, and opportunities for growth within a large integrated health system.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred.
• Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association.
• Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit.
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse.
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan.
• Participate in other activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit.
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience.
