Job summary

EVH Mother Baby Womens Hospital Evanston is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Postpartum Unit on the night shift. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver direct patient care, perform vital sign checks, EKGs, catheter care, and assist with discharge planning.

The role requires a CNA training background or nursing clinical rotation, and BLS certification. The position offers full-time hours (32 per week) with 2300-0730 shifts and weekend rotation, plus

• CNA training or nursing clinical rotation preferred.
• Current BLS certification required or preferred.
• Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care on the postpartum unit.
• Record vitals, perform 12-Lead EKG, and assist with bladder ultrasound.
• Assist with Foley catheter and IV removal, specimen collection.
• Support bathing, turning, ambulation, hourly rounding, and feeding.
• Prepare patients for discharge and assist with admissions.
