Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Postpartum Manager RN for evening shifts to oversee unit operations, staffing, and adherence to standards of care.

The role emphasizes clinical leadership, patient safety, and a focus on delivering exceptional nurse-driven care in a high-acuity obstetric setting. Qualifications

• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BSN required.
• 1+ year experience in healthcare.
• 1+ year in supervisory role.
• Specialty Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license; Texas RN license to be obtained if not already.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the unit's daily function and staffing.
• Monitors nursing care per established policies and procedures and holds staff accountable for quality outcomes.
• Operationalizes evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Supports efficiency, effectiveness and cost through reduced variation in practice and accountability.
• Coordinates admissions and discharges to ensure throughput and high quality care.
• Provides leadership to achieve an exceptional patient experience and coordinates interdisciplinary care across departments.
• Reviews feedback mechanisms to identify opportunities to improve patient satisfaction and service.
