Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Postpartum Registered Nurse to educate and assist new mothers during the postpartum period and to support newborn care on the Mother Baby Unit.

You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, plan and evaluate patient care, supervise licensed and non-licensed staff within the RN scope, and provide education and emotional support, including detection of postpartum depression.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in clinical nursing.
• Education: ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Licenses and certifications as listed below.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for mother and baby.
• Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed staff within RN scope.
• Educate and support patients and families, recognize postpartum depression symptoms.
