Job summary

Fordham University in New York's Rose Hill campus seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Scientist to join the 3E Study, examining how economic stressors and educational factors affect cardiometabolic and oral health among emerging adults.

Responsibilities include data analysis (cardiometabolic, self-report, smartphone), preparing manuscripts and conference presentations, mentoring undergraduate/graduate researchers, and pursuing additional funding as needed.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or relevant graduate degree in Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, Education, or related quantitative field.
• Minimum of one year experience analyzing quantitative data from large longitudinal cohorts.
• Experience with statistical software and quantitative data management.

Position Summary

Reporting to multiple Principal Investigators, the Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Scientist works on work on the 3E Study, investigating how economic stressors and educational protective factors affect cardiometabolic and oral health outcomes among emerging adult college students. Responsibilities include data analysis (including cardiometabolic, self-report, and smartphone data). The candidate will assist in preparing manuscripts and conference presentations, oversee and mentor undergraduate/graduate research assistants, and complete other tasks as necessary.

The position is renewable, contingent on funding.

Management Responsibilities

May provide peer-level coordination or subject-matter guidance to colleagues performing similar work and/or student, part-time workers, including helping organize tasks, clarify priorities, or review work for quality or consistency.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience

• Ph.D. or other relevant graduate degree plus equivalent years of experience in Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, Education, or relevant quantitative social science.
• Minimum of one year of experience analyzing quantitative data from at least one large, longitudinal cohort dataset.
• Experience conducting quantitative data management and data analyses using statistical software

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

• Experience working in a collaborative, hybrid research laboratory environment.
• Experience with advanced statistics, including multi-level models, latent profile analysis, and/or causal mediation.
• Experience with academic writing and submitting manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals.
• Excellent at communicating quantitative research findings in writing and in presentations (e.g., written, verbal).
• Strengths in organization, time management, and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in conducting quantitative data analysis in Stata and/or R.
• Experience with survey data, anthropometric data, daily diary data, and/or accelerometer/other wearable data.
• Experience writing successful Institutional Review Board applications and protocols.
• Experience writing manuscripts for academic journals.

Minimum Starting Salary $60,000

Maximum Starting Salary $70,000
