Job summary
IMDEA Energy Institute invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in modelling and simulation of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). You will join the Nuclear Technology Unit and work with senior researchers in reactor physics, neutronics, thermal-hydraulics and multiphysics simulations.
You will contribute to new scientific capabilities, publications, projects, and national/international collaborations from the outset.
Qualifications
- PhD in Nuclear Engineering or related discipline.
- Early postdoctoral profile with up to four years post-PhD.
- Experience in modelling, computational simulation, scientific programming, or energy systems analysis.
Responsibilities
- Develop models and simulation tools for SMRs and advanced nuclear technologies.
- Perform calculations, analyse results, and verify/validate models.
- Collaborate on multiphysics simulation, reduced-order models, scientific AI, or digital twins.
- Participate in R&D projects, meetings and collaborations with universities and industry.
- Prepare scientific publications, technical reports and conference contributions.
- Contribute to unit activities and new research proposals.
