Job summary

GE Vernova Advanced Research is seeking a Post Doctoral researcher to develop and apply advanced computational methods for complex energy systems. You will work on multiphysics modeling, high-fidelity solvers, and data-driven simulations to accelerate design and digital twin development.

The role emphasizes collaboration with experimentalists, dissemination of results, and contributions to research proposals and strategic initiatives within GE Vernova’s energy platforms.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Strong background in computational science and high-fidelity modeling.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct research and develop advanced computational models and simulation tools for complex physical systems.
• Apply high-fidelity simulation methods such as CFD, heat transfer, reactive flows, and combustion using commercial and proprietary software.
• Develop numerical algorithms, including ML-enhanced simulations and reduced-order modeling techniques.
• Verify and validate models against experimental data.
• Collaborate with experimentalists and domain experts for data integration and calibration.
• Advance digital engineering capabilities including digital twins and model-based systems engineering.
• Explore GPU-accelerated computing, uncertainty quantification, and real-time simulation.
• Communicate results through reports, publications, and presentations.
• Support proposals for GE Vernova businesses and government agencies.
