Job summary

Lund University seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a newly established research group at Faculty of Medicine and MultiPark. The research aims to uncover how microglia dynamically modulate neural circuits to shape memory formation and extinction across health, psychiatric disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.

The candidate will work at the interface of circuit neuroscience and microglial biology, using advanced methodologies including two-photon microscopy, miniature

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience.
• Hands-on experience with in vivo calcium imaging.
• Experience with microglia biology or neuroimmune interactions.
• Behavioral experiments.
• Solid data analysis skills (e.g., MATLAB or Python for calcium imaging data).
• FELASA B certification to conduct mouse experiments (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead independent research projects within the lab’s research program.
• Perform in vivo calcium imaging and behavioral experiments.
• Analyze neuronal and microglial activity datasets (e.g., calcium imaging).
• Conduct immunohistochemistry and morphological analysis of microglia and neurons.
• Apply for postdoc fellowship with help from the lab whenever possible.
