Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
• In-depth knowledge of structural, compositional, and mechanical characterization of materials.
• Experience with a broad spectrum of materials characterization and metrology tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental research in physical vapor deposition of films and coatings and ion beam modification of materials.
• Use a broad range of standard and advanced materials characterization and metrology tools.
• Contribute to the conception, design, and execution of research to address defined problems.
• Pursue independent but complementary research interests and interact with scientists across the Laboratory.
• Collaborate with scientists in a multidisciplinary team to achieve research goals.
• Lead manuscript development and maintain a strong publication record.
