Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks a postdoctoral researcher to develop and characterize short-pulse laser accelerated probe beams for radiography. You will lead laser-radiography platforms at Omega and other facilities, and design diagnostics to quantify particle sources.

Work at LANL supports ICF, hydrodynamics, and radiography research. Qualifications include a PhD in physics/engineering, ability to perform independent and collaborative research, and readiness to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or closely related field completed within the last five years.
• Ability to carry out independent and collaborative research in experimental physics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and characterize short-pulse laser accelerated probe beams for radiography applications.
• Lead the development of laser-radiography platforms at the Omega Laser Facility and other short-pulse lasers.
• Design and deploy diagnostics to characterize particle sources.
