Job summary

The Zander laboratory at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology, Rutgers University, is seeking an individual to study powdery mildew resistance in hemp and to optimize a hemp transformation and genome editing platform. Research will focus on molecular, genetic, and (epi)genomic approaches to identify determinants of resistance.

The successful candidate will report to the PI and will train undergraduate researchers, document procedures, and contribute to publications and grant proposals.

Responsibilities

• Grant-funded research using genetic, (epi)genomic and proteomic analyses in hemp with results to be published and used for grant proposals.
• Train and supervise undergraduate researchers in plant genetics, genomics, recombinant DNA techniques, data presentation, and lab protocols; ensure progress and proper documentation.
