The Zander laboratory at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology, Rutgers University, is seeking an individual to study powdery mildew resistance in hemp and to optimize a hemp transformation and genome editing platform. Research will focus on molecular, genetic, and (epi)genomic approaches to identify determinants of resistance.
The successful candidate will report to the PI and will train undergraduate researchers, document procedures, and contribute to publications and grant proposals.
Posting Summary
The Zander laboratory at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology is looking for an individual that investigates powdery mildew resistance in hemp. Furthermore, the individual will also optimize a hemp transformation and genome editing platform. Research is carried out in the Zander laboratory, that conducts molecular, genetic and (epi)genomic research to better understand the role of transcription factors and the epigenome dynamics. The individual needs to conduct research on questions related to powdery mildew resistance and susceptibility in hemp. By using genetic, genomic and biochemical methods, the individual will identify/analyze/characterize molecular determinants for powdery mildew resistance in hemp. The individual will report directly to the laboratory Principle Investigator (PI).
