The Zander laboratory at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology seeks an individual that investigates stimulus‑induced 3D epigenome reprogramming in crop and medicinal plant species, and develops cistrome mapping tools for various plant species. Research is carried out in the Zander laboratory, which conducts molecular, genetic and (epi)genomic research to better understand the role of transcription factors and the epigenome dynamics. The individual will conduct research on questions related to transcription factor DNA‑driven 3D epigenome dynamics in immune responses, using genetic, genomic and biochemical methods to identify, analyze or characterize molecular determinants for chromatin looping in plants. The individual will report directly to the laboratory Principal Investigator (PI).

Level of Decision Making: The individual must navigate the highly complex and often unpredictable nature of scientific research and manage a large and diverse research team. The incumbent will address issues in long‑term, mid‑term, and day‑to‑day experiments, critically analyze problems, conduct research, seek expert advice, and make well‑informed recommendations to the PI.
