Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington in Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post Surgical Unit. Nurses provide comprehensive care after surgery, help manage pain, promote safe ambulation, and guide patients toward readiness for discharge under close supervision of surgeons and post-acute teams.

This role requires a Texas RN license, BCLS and ACLS, with ER experience preferred and orthopedic nursing preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Texas RN License.
• Current BCLS, ACLS; PALS recommended.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to make nursing judgments.
• Prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in an RN in hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit.
• Strong ER experience preferred.
• 1-year orthopedic nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for post-surgical patients in a manner consistent with standards.
• Ensure high-quality, safe delivery of patient care and compliance with standards.
• Care for patients from ages 2 through geriatric; support discharge planning.
• Collaborate with surgeons and post-acute caregivers for seamless care transitions.
