Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post Surgical Unit. Schedule: Nights, 3x per week, variable.

The RN will provide comprehensive post-surgical nursing care, ensure safe pain management, and support early ambulation and discharge readiness. Requirements include a Texas RN license, BCLS/ACLS (PALS recommended), and 2+ years in hospital Med/Surg or ICU; orthopedic experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
• Current Texas RN License.
• Current BCLS and ACLS certifications.
• PALS recommended.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to make nursing judgments.
• Prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Minimum 2 years RN hospital Med/Surg or ICU experience.
• Strong ER experience preferred.
• 1-year orthopedic nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for post-surgical patients in line with accepted standards.
• Ensure high-quality, safe delivery of patient care and compliance with Joint Commission and state/federal standards.
• Care for patients from 2 years to geriatric.
• Collaborate with surgeons and post-acute caregivers for seamless continuity of care from pre- to post-op.
• Assist with post-operative pain management and safe ambulation.
