Job summary

McAlester Regional Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post Surgical Day Shift in McAlester, OK. The RN will educate patients and families on post-surgical care, discharge instructions, and activity restrictions, promoting safety, comfort, and optimal recovery

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the United States.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
• BLS certification.
• Experience in post-surgical or acute care nursing preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' vital signs, surgical sites, and overall condition following surgery to detect complications.
• Administer prescribed medications, including pain management therapies, and document responses.
• Coordinate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to update care plans and communicate progress.
• Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care, wound management, activity restrictions, and follow-up appointments.
• Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies, implementing appropriate interventions.
