Job summary

McAlester Regional Health Center is seeking an experienced RN for Post Surgical Night Shift, providing comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from surgery during overnight hours. You will monitor vitals, manage pain, administer medications, and coordinate with the surgical team to ensure safe, effective recovery.

Ideal candidates hold a valid RN license in the United States, have a nursing degree (ADN or BSN), BLS, and experience in post-surgical or acute care settings.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the United States.
• Completion of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• BLS certification or higher ACLS is a plus.
• Experience in post-surgical or acute care nursing settings.
• Ability to work overnight shifts and manage the physical demands of nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor post-surgical patients’ vital signs, wounds, and overall condition for complications.
• Administer medications including pain management with proper documentation.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and staff to update care plans.
• Provide patient education on post-operative care, mobility and meds.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies during night shift.
