Job summary

Allina Health is hiring a Nursing Assistant in Post Surgical Medicine at United Hospital. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, reporting vital signs, and supporting patient transfers under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The position supports a 0.6 FTE (48 hours per two-week pay period) with an 8-hour day/evening shift and every-other weekend rotation. Qualified candidates have CNA training or clinical rotations, or completion of the Allina Health Nursing Assistant

Qualifications

Successful completion of CNA program OR clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program OR completion of the Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program OR previous direct patient care experience.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association OR American Red Cross OR Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Under RN supervision, assist in delivering patient care including feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, moving and linen changes.
Collect and document vital signs and other observations as assigned.
Assist with ambulation, transfers, positioning and ROM per activity orders.
Support fall prevention and respond promptly to patient call lights.
Observe and report health status changes to the RN promptly.
Ensure safety of patients, visitors and staff during care activities.
