Job summary

Allina Health's United Hospital in Saint Paul seeks an RN to join the Post Surgical Medicine team on Unit 2600, caring for patients recovering from surgeries such as Urology, Bariatric, and OB-GYN. You will work with a patient care manager, supervisors, and nursing assistants, with a thorough orientation.

The role emphasizes assessment, care planning, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with families.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Vocational degree required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licensed RN in MN (or WI) upon hire depending on site.
• Must meet at least one of the following: BLS (AHA or Red Cross) or Allina in-house training.
• Must meet at least one of the following (location-specific): ACLS/ALS or Allina in-house ACLS training.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; supervising the progress; and modification of the plan of care as needed.
• Maintains education and competencies to remain proficient to provide high quality patient care practice and skills.
• Incorporates evidence-based nursing practice taking into consideration current statutes, rules and regulations when developing the plan of care.
• Coordinates, collaborates, and delegates appropriately to ensure care is provided in a safe, effective fashion.
