Job summary

Allegheny Health Network, part of Highmark Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Post-Surgery unit at West Penn Hospital. This full-time role is 36 hours per week with rotating days and nights, including weekends.

The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients, following physician orders and hospital policy. The unit handles bariatric, esophageal, gynecological oncology, surgical oncology, urology and GI cases, with typical stays of 4–5

Qualifications

• Active RN license in PA or compact
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Experience in inpatient surgical nursing preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in a professional practice setting and mentor staff
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care per physician orders and hospital policy
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, and accurate documentation of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to evaluate care plans and outcomes
• Assign tasks based on patient needs and staff competencies
