Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Solution Engineer to design and document post-sale security systems, including drawings, network layouts, and installation guides. You will work with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Operations, and customers to translate proposals into executable designs.

Requirements include 5+ years in electronic security design, familiarity with AutoCAD and PSIM, and the ability to read complex drawings. The role offers competitive salary and benefits in Secaucus, NJ area.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electronic security systems design/engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of security design best practices and product applicability (video, access, intrusion, PSIM).
• Skills in AutoCAD, MS Office, Acrobat, Visio.
• Ability to read complex architectural/engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, voltage drop calculations, wire sizing.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Experience sizing IT networks and storage: VMware, Cisco Nexus, NetApp/EMC, Cisco devices.

Responsibilities

• Create and update post-sale engineering packages with device layouts and diagrams.
• Develop specifications for performance-based and product-based projects.
• Prepare submittal packages for architects and engineers.
• Maintain as-built documentation across project lifecycles.
• Utilize standard engineering documents and templates; customize as needed.
• Ensure value engineering by meeting technical requirements while reducing costs.
• Review AUTS proposals for product applicability and compliance.
• Collaborate with product suppliers to ensure functionality.
• Apply AUTS installation standards consistently.
• Contribute to internal guidelines for Solutions Engineering.
