Job summary

STRS Ohio is seeking a Post-Retirement, Benefits Processing Account Representative to join the Member Benefits/Recipient Benefits Processing team. This onsite role processes death reports, analyzes documents, and pays lump-sum and monthly benefits to beneficiaries.

The successful candidate will review records, prepare documents, handle benefit changes, and support management with process improvements while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in business or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze information and apply business rules.
• Knowledge of Ohio codes and STRS Ohio policies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process death notifications and determine beneficiaries and payments.
• Review records to determine eligibility for lump-sum and monthly benefits.
• Prepare documents for payments, including POA and tax changes.
• Process benefit changes due to marriage, divorce, or beneficiary death.
• Handle call-tracking requests and donor inquiries related to benefits.
• Assist with document reviews and test new procedures.
