Job summary

STRS Ohio is seeking a Member Service Representative to join the Member Benefits/Member Services Center team. This onsite role handles inquiries from members and benefit recipients by telephone, delivering accurate information with a high level of service.

Responsibilities include processing requests, maintaining records, navigating STRS Ohio systems, and supporting department goals while upholding security and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College-level coursework or three years’ relevant experience required.
• Two to three years’ experience in a customer-service environment required; STRS Ohio benefit experience preferred.
• General knowledge of STRS Ohio rules and administrative guidelines.
• Excellent math and analytical skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries regarding benefits and services with accuracy and quality.
• Input and retrieve information in mainframe and other systems.
• Coordinate transfer of call ownership to ensure member satisfaction.
• Provide basic technical assistance for online access to STRS Ohio self-service apps.
• Maintain records and document information about calls.
