Job summary

STRS Ohio is seeking a dedicated Member Service Representative to support the Member Benefits/Member Services Center. The role handles member inquiries by phone, explains benefits, and performs data entry and account maintenance.

Positions require strong communication, accuracy, and teamwork in a professional, business casual environment with on-site parking and benefits. On-site schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College-level coursework or three years’ relevant experience required.
• Two to three years’ experience in a customer-service environment required; STRS Ohio benefit experience preferred.
• General knowledge of STRS Ohio rules and policies.
• Excellent math and analytical skills required.
• Ability to operate Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries regarding benefits and services by telephone with accuracy and quality.
• Calculate and explain values and benefits to members.
• Input and retrieve information on mainframe and other software applications.
• Escalate complex cases to senior staff when needed.
• Provide summaries and resources to assist members with self-service options.
• Maintain accurate records of calls and transactions.
