Job summary

University of Southern California is seeking a Post-Production Support Specialist to maintain post-production technology and support end users in the School of Cinematic Arts. The role covers hardware, software, and workflows across Avid, DaVinci Resolve, NEXIS, and related tools.

The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting and customer service skills, with experience supporting both Mac and Windows environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
3 years of experience in Post-Production Editorial.
5-10 years of experience directly supporting Post-Production Editorial.

Responsibilities

Supporting Avid Media Composer installation, usage, and workflow
Managing of Avid NEXIS storage
Workstation configuration, maintenance, and wiring
Windows and MacOS systems administration
Supporting handoff of picture to post-production sound and color
Color Correction workflow including monitor calibration and support of color tools in Media Composer & Resolve
DCP creation, validation, and cinema server ingestion
Creating procedures and documentation
Providing technical training and support for students, faculty, and staff
Monitoring and responding to help desk ticketing system
Additional knowledge in these areas is a plus: Sync, timecode, and multicam
Atmos and closed caption support
Emerging pre-vis and production technologies such as the virtual production tools in Unreal Engine
Generative AI tools in previz and post-production
