Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX seeks a Registered Nurse Phase I to join Surgical Services for the evenings. You will deliver patient care through the nursing process, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and support the hospital’s mission.

This role requires Texas RN license, BLS, and BSN preferred; ACLS/PALS/NRP training within specified timeframes; strong English communication and computer skills; hospital experience favored.

Qualifications

• Requires access to the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written) and computer skills required.
• BSN preferred; RN license in Texas required, with BLS.
• ACLS and PALS certification within specified timelines; NRP for Women’s Hospital staff.
• Willingness to train for charge nurse and precept after experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process for Post Op patients.
• Administer medications and therapies within safe nursing practice.
• Assist with admitting, discharging and transferring patients.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders; maintain accurate nursing records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and families and support emotional needs.
• Maintain unit safety, policies, and documentation; participate in rounds.
