Job summary

Wilsonart is seeking an operator for the Wetwall facility to run Post-Forming & DET lines. You will control the process under supervision and perform related manufacturing tasks with attention to safety and quality. This role requires standing, manual handling of heavy materials, and adherence to procedures.

Experience with similar PLC-controlled machinery is a plus; training and mentorship are provided. The team emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in a dynamic

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Experience operating similar PLC-controlled machinery is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates Post Forming & DET equipment according to product specifications.
  • Assists & Operates Bonding Line, Post-Forming & DET MFG equipment per specs.
  • Sets up and runs production lines using HMIs, precision mechanical and CNC equipment.
  • Evaluates the daily production schedule.
  • Logs production information (material produced, type, size, run, control settings).
  • Ensures material is present for production.
  • Lays up and aligns raw materials per process.
  • Initiates corrective action if operations are not to standard.
  • Trains personnel to relieve breaks/time off.
  • Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks.
  • Uses protective equipment when handling hazardous materials.
  • Packages finished materials per procedures.

Job Description

Operates the MFG Post-Forming & DET Line at the Wetwall facility, controls the Postforming & DET process under direction of the Supervisor. Performs other tasks as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operates Post Forming & DET equipment to according to the product specifications
  • Assist & Operates Bonding Line, Post-Forming & DET MFG equipment to according to the product specifications
  • Set up and run production lines using HMI’s, precision mechanical and CNC equipment.
  • Evaluates the daily production schedule.
  • Logs production information such as: material produced, type, size, run, control settings, etc.
  • Ensures all material is present for the production process.
  • Lays up and aligns the raw materials according to the production process.
  • Initiates corrective action if production operations are not to standard.
  • Trains additional personnel on performance of tasks to relieve for breaks, lunches, time off.
  • Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks.
  • Utilizes or wears protective equipment as required or when handling hazardous materials.
  • Package finished materials according to standard procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Hands on mechanical/electrical knowledge of high speed industrial equipment
  • Attention to detail and working in a methodical manner
  • Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
  • Knowledge of the Postforming manufacturing process and component materials utilized.
  • Knowledge of the level of quality material must meet.
  • Skill in operating a lift truck or similar powered industrial vehicle.
  • Skill in establishing effective working relationships with other personnel.
  • Ability to identify patterns and finishes.
  • Ability to identify colors and shades.
  • Ability to lead people.
  • Ability to accurately record information on production schedules/logs.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules and material assets.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision and as a team member
  • Ability to interpret dials, graphs, charts, KPI’s etc.
  • Ability to visually detect product imperfections and defects.
  • Ability to communicate well in oral and written forms at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to learn new skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE: Preferred candidate will have experience in Postforming or Operating similar PLC controlled machinery in a Manufacturing or Commercial Environment. Experience with FANUC controls or robotics an advantage. Experience of working within a wood working environment, laminate worktop manufacturer or hot melt adhesive coater an advantage and FANUC controls or robotics an advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight 50 to100 lbs.
