Job summary

Wilsonart is seeking a production operator to manage the TFL line, set presses, load materials, and ensure alignment and quality standards on each cycle. The role requires observing safety procedures, maintaining logs, and collaborating with team members to meet production targets.

The ideal candidate will perform routine maintenance, follow lock-out/tag-out protocols, and support continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment at our Oregon site.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Must be able to lift 50–100 lbs and perform continuous physical exertion.
• Work in an environment with fumes/odors and loud noises.

Responsibilities

• Operates press to cure the material according to the press cycle specifications.
• Evaluates the daily press schedule.
• Logs production information such as material produced, type, size, run, control settings.
• Lays up and aligns the raw materials according to the production process.
• Handles the movement of steel plates, carrier plates and completed TFL.
• Initiates corrective action if production operations are not to standard.
• Trains personnel on performance of tasks.
• Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks.
• Inspects finished material and grades out any with defects.

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY: Controls the operation of TFL line, including press settings, board and paper loading and alignment, inspection requirements, and basic troubleshooting. Performs other tasks as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates press to cure the material according to the press cycle specifications
• Evaluates the daily press schedule.
• Logs production information such as: material produced, type, size, run, control settings, etc.
• Ensures all material is present for the production process.
• Lays up and aligns the raw materials according to the production process.
• Handles the movement of steel plates, carrier plates and completed TFL.
• Initiates corrective action if production operations are not to standard.
• Trains personnel on performance of tasks.
• Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks.
• Inspects finished material and grades out any with defects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
• Knowledge of the pressing manufacturing process and component materials utilized.
• Knowledge of the level of quality material must meet.
• Knowledge of mathematics sufficient to calculate production targets and actuals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED

WORKING CONDITIONS PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight 50 to100 lbs.

ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness.
