Job summary

Wilsonart is seeking a full-time manufacturing operator to run the Post-Forming & DET line at the Wetwall facility. You will operate high-speed equipment, monitor quality, and log production data under supervisor direction.

As part of the team, you will set up lines, train others, and uphold safety standards while maintaining strict adherence to production schedules and quality controls at Wilsonart.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with Postforming or operating similar PLC controlled machinery is preferred.
  • Experience with FANUC controls or robotics is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Post Forming & DET equipment according to product specifications.
  • Assist & Operates Bonding Line, Post-Forming & DET MFG equipment according to the product specifications.
  • Set up and run production lines using HMIs, precision mechanical and CNC equipment.
  • Evaluate the daily production schedule.
  • Logs production information such as: material produced, type, size, run, control settings, etc.
  • Ensures all material is present for the production process.
  • Lays up and aligns the raw materials according to the production process.
  • Initiates corrective action if production operations are not to standard.
  • Trains additional personnel on performance of tasks to relieve for breaks, lunches, time off.
  • Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks.
  • Utilizes or wears protective equipment as required or when handling hazardous materials.
  • Package finished materials according to standard procedures.

Job Description:

Operates the MFG Post-Forming & DET Line at the Wetwall facility, controls the Postforming & DET process under

direction of the Supervisor. Performs other tasks as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operates Post Forming & DET equipment to according to the product specifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Hands on mechanical/electrical knowledge of high speed industrial equipment
  • Attention to detail and working in a methodical manner
  • Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
  • Knowledge of the Postforming manufacturing process and component materials utilized.
  • Knowledge of the level of quality material must meet.
  • Skill in operating a lift truck or similar powered industrial vehicle.
  • Skill in establishing effective working relationships with other personnel.
  • Ability to identify patterns and finishes.
  • Ability to identify colors and shades.
  • Ability to lead people.
  • Ability to accurately record information on production schedules/logs.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules and material assets.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision and as a team member
  • Ability to interpret dials, graphs, charts, KPI’s etc.
  • Ability to visually detect product imperfections and defects.
  • Ability to communicate well in oral and written forms at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to learn new skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred candidate will have experience in Postforming or Operating similar PLC controlled machinery in a Manufacturing or Commercial Environment. Experience with FANUC controls or robotics an advantage.

Experience of working within a wood working environment, laminate worktop manufacturer or hot melt adhesive coater an advantage and FANUC controls or robotics an advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight 50 to100 lbs.
