Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Santa Ana, California, is seeking a Plating Operator to apply post chromate coatings to steel parts and support plating operations, including rack loading and chemical additions.

Candidates should be familiar with plating times, process charts, basic inspection tools, and reading work instructions, with ability to lift up to 45 lbs and work overtime as needed. The role offers pay from $21.00 to $26.00 per hour, plus bonus eligibility, PTO, holidays, health and 401(k)

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English and follow instructions precisely.
• Ability to perform basic shop math including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to use basic hand tools such as wrenches.
• Familiarity with plating times and process charting (digital).
• Ability to use micrometers and other basic inspection tools.
• Ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and prints.

Responsibilities

• Work safely under PPE and functional safety guidelines.
• Adhere to in-process quality inspections to meet specs.
• Access and interpret documentation (C-Specs, etc.).
• Lift up to 45 lbs repeatedly.
• Able to work overtime as needed.
• Perform intermediate racking and loading of product.
• Make intermediate chemical additions (acids, cyanides).
• Perform in-process inspection (e.g., X-ray unit).
• Meet area/product specific production standards.
• Complete process and operation documentation (traceability).
• Work in a team environment and assist others as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
