Job summary

The University of Vermont seeks a Team Lead, Unit Post-Award Administration to drive the RAO's continued development and deliver a cohesive post-award support framework. You will supervise post-award staff, coordinate with senior leadership, and implement streamlined processes to maximize researchers’ focus on scholarly activity.

Responsibilities include managing post-award financial administration, overseeing tools and procedures, and training staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and six years of government, non-profit or higher education experience required.
• Experience in complex financial reporting, employee supervision, and effective written and oral communication skills required.
• Demonstrated customer service, analytical and presentation skills, and proficiency with spreadsheet applications required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate the development of the Research Administration Office (RAO) to support sponsored project administration.
• Operate a customer-focused post-award administration team, synchronized in processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with Senior Associate Dean for Research, department leadership, and SPA to improve policies and procedures.
• Provide onboarding and training for post-award administrators and act as liaison on policy information.
• Offer executive-level research administration to the Senior Associate Dean for Research and oversee grant portfolio, budgets and monitoring.
• Lead continuous improvement activities and document procedures for unit post-award administration.
