Job summary

University of Vermont is seeking a Senior Unit Pre-Award Administrator to manage pre-award activities for sponsored research. You will guide PIs through proposal submission and award administration, partnering with SPA's Research Administrators to interpret sponsor requirements and university policies.

You will also develop training programs, onboard PIs, mentor junior staff, and oversee special projects and procedure development in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of contracts and grants transactions and related financial systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication and customer service.
• Strong organization, problem solving, and deadlines management.
• Understanding of applicable regulations, policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-award activities for sponsored research submissions and awards.
• Assist PIs with proposal submission and grant administration tasks.
• Partner with Research Administrators to interpret sponsor regulations and policies.
• Deliver and lead training initiatives for PIs and staff.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee special projects and procedures.
