Job summary

The University of Vermont seeks a Team Lead, Unit Pre-Award Administration to oversee pre-award research administration, coordinating processes with the RAO, SADR, SPA, and department leadership to support sponsored projects.

Responsibilities include supervising Pre-Award Administrators, guiding proposal development and post-award communications, and implementing continuous improvements within a hybrid campus/remote work model. A Bachelor's degree and 6 years' relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and six years of government, non-profit or higher education experience required.
• Experience in complex research administration and grant/contract proposal submission management.
• Budget building and spreadsheet proficiency required.
• Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills required.
• Analytical and presentation skills essential; supervision experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement continuous improvement activities; streamline processes and document procedures for department pre-award administration.
• Independently supervise unit Pre-Award Administrators and provide onboarding and training.
• Serve as liaison to internal and external stakeholders on policy and process information.
• Provide executive level research administration and oversee the Dean’s office grant portfolio.
