Job summary

University of Vermont in Burlington, VT seeks a Team Lead, Unit Post-Award Administration to lead the RAO development, coordinating post-award administration across units, aligning with the Dean’s office and SPA, enabling researchers to focus on science.

The role oversees post-award financial management, supervises Post-Award Administrators, and drives process improvements, training, and documentation; requires a strong background in financial reporting, supervision, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and six years of government, non-profit or higher education experience required.
• Experience in complex financial reporting, employee supervision, and effective written and oral communication skills required.
• Demonstrated customer service, analytical and presentation skills, and proficiency with spreadsheet applications required.
• Experience participating in financial audits, financial management and PeopleSoft highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate the further development of the RAO as a unit of the Dean’s office.
• Provide administrative supervision for unit Post-Award Administrators.
• Lead continuous improvement activities; streamline processes and develop tools/document procedures.
• Provide onboarding and training for central and unit post-award administrators.
• Serve as liaison on policy, procedural and process information; advise the Senior Associate Dean for Research.
• Oversee the Dean’s Office grant portfolio, budget analytics, and post-award financial management.
