Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking Positive Support Specialists (PSS) for our ICRS programs in Bemidji. You will help individuals with complex medical, behavioral, and mental health needs live more independently through person-centered supports, building skills and meaningful community participation.

You will document each shift, assist with daily living tasks, advocate for rights and care, respond to crises, and receive training.

Qualifications

• Minimum education is a high school diploma, with preference for a related degree.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience with people with complex needs; 3–5 years preferred.
• 40% FTE or greater; maintain trainings current; employment in good standing; work all scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to be more independent in life skills such as meal prep, hygiene, and navigating the community.
• Advocate for rights, medical care and community involvement.
• Complete necessary documentation and record-keeping every shift.
• Manage crisis situations safely; training for behavioral supports and restraints provided.
• Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
