Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Part-time Positive Support Specialist (PSS) for our Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS) in Bloomington, MN. You will support individuals with complex medical, behavioral and mental health needs in home and community settings, using person-centered approaches.

The role emphasizes independence, crisis management, documentation and trauma-informed care, with training provided and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum education is a high school diploma; a degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience with people with complex needs; 3–5 years preferred.
• Must pass BCA background check and have a valid driver’s license with MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to be more independent with life skills at home and in the community.
• Advocate for individuals in areas such as rights and medical care.
• Complete necessary documentation and shift-records.
• Manage crisis situations safely, including potential use of restraints training.
• Engage in trauma-informed care on a daily basis.
