Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) seeks Positive Support Specialists (PSS) to work in Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS) programs in Minnesota. Pay is $20/hour.

The role focuses on assisting individuals with complex medical, behavioral, and mental health needs through a person-centered approach. Responsibilities include helping clients gain independence in daily tasks, advocating for rights and medical care, completing shift documentation, and responding to crises with

Qualifications

Minimum education is a high school diploma, with preference for a related degree.
Minimum 1–2 years with people with complex needs; 3–5 years preferred for the role.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals to be more independent in life skills (meals, hygiene, community navigation).
Advocate for rights and medical care within the community.
Complete documentation and shift records.
Manage crisis situations safely; training provided for PBIS and 245D requirements.
Engage in trauma-informed care daily.

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to lift 50 lbs

Driver's license

Knowledge of local resources

Education

Degree in related field (preferred)
