Job summary

CarePlus NJ Inc is seeking a Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) Parenting Coach. You will deliver the Triple P curriculum to parents and caregivers of children and youth aged 0-12 in their home or the community.

This full-time role requires travel in Bergen and Hudson Counties, maintains a caseload, facilitates groups, schedules sessions flexibly, and coordinates with care managers to connect families with needed resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent with 1+ years trauma-related experience.
• GED or High School Diploma with 2 years direct care experience with minors or related lived experience.
• Valid driver's license and insurable under agency policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of up to 8 families receiving Triple P Standard.
• Facilitate group sessions serving 8-12 parents per group 3 times per year.
• Schedule and complete weekly sessions in a flexible manner.
• Collaborate with families and engage them in the Triple P approach.
• Establish a safe communication milieu in group settings.
• Work with Care managers to connect families to resources in the community.
• Promote Triple P services in the community, particularly among parenting and early childhood organizations.
• Conduction initial Needs Assessments and Safety Evaluations for parents and caregivers.
• Create Family Services Plans to guide services and goal planning.

Job Summary:

As a Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) Parenting Coach, you will deliver the Triple P curriculum to parents and caregivers of children and youth aged 0-12 in their home or the community. In the Triple P educational sessions, you will provide parents and caregivers with practical parenting skills and strategies, enabling them to enhance social connections, emotional competency, and increase knowledge of child safety and development.

What Will You Do:

• Maintain a caseload of up to 8 families receiving Triple P Standard
• Facilitate group sessions serving 8-12 parents per group 3 times per year
• Schedule and complete all weekly sessions needed in a flexible manner, prioritizing family availability
• Collaborate with families while engaging them in the Triple P approach, establishing a therapeutic rapport with all participants
• Establish an appropriate milieu of safe communication in a group settings.
• Work with Care managers to connect families to needed resources in the community and provide coordination support to ensure successful linkages.
• Promote Triple P services in the community, particularly among parenting and early childhood organizations.
• Conduction initial Needs Assessments and Safety Evaluations for parents and caregivers upon entry to program.
• Create Family Services Plans to help guide parents and caregivers' services to encourage goal planning.

What We Need to See:

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent experience within the child welfare system and 1+ years of experience working with families experiencing trauma, mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, and child abuse and/or neglect
• OR GED or High School Diploma and demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of experience in providing direct care to minors and/or related lived experience with the child welfare system.
• Valid driver's license and must be insurable under the agency's automobile insurance policy.
