Job summary

eNGINE is seeking a Python Developer to join a small, collaborative technology team responsible for a next-generation POS platform across a large network of retail locations.

This hands-on role targets someone with 2–5 years of professional experience who enjoys working across backend and frontend technologies, contributing to Python services, Angular applications, APIs, databases, automation, and deployment tooling.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Python experience for backend development and scripting.
• Professional experience with Angular and modern web applications.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and integration work.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance during POS implementations and help ensure new locations are added to the platform.
• Verify configurations and deployments of applications, databases, and supporting tech during deployments.
• Diagnose issues reported by stores or deployment personnel and escalate when needed.
• Work with SQL-based data supporting POS configuration and deployment activities.
• Analyze application and database information to troubleshoot and support decisions.
• Partner with Business Analysts to translate store workflows into software solutions.
• Develop and maintain Python-based backend services, APIs, scripts, and automation.
• Build and maintain Angular applications used by store personnel and internal teams.
• Participate in testing, QA, and troubleshooting throughout development and deployment cycles.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in peer reviews.
• Develop Jenkins jobs supporting deployments, log collection, and operational processes.
• Use Git and CI/CD practices to ensure reliable software delivery.
• Contribute to additional applications as the platform expands.
