Job summary

Truist seeks an experienced Dealer Services Credit Underwriter to manage a diverse client portfolio and deliver complex financing solutions in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

The role requires underwriting expertise, risk assessment, and collaboration with Investment Banking to ensure compliant, tailored lending solutions, while guiding junior team members and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field and at least 5+years of related training and experience in commercial/Dealer Services credit analysis.
• Mastery level proficiency with MS Office Desktop applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills and solid written/verbal communication are essential.
• Sound credit skills essential.
• Must have strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize workflow and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting: leads the entire commercial underwriting process both internally and externally with prospects and clients. Underwrites, structures, and documents all prospect and client transactions.
• Portfolio Management: Accountable for and manages assigned portfolio by monitoring performance and trends, proactively defining client credit solutions, identifying issues and following through for remediation.
• Client Calling Effort: Expands client relationships through consistent and direct client calling efforts.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Partner closely with Investment Banking peers to ensure effective delivery of complex financing solutions to CCB clients.
• Deal Team Management: Manage tasks with assigned Associates and Analysts; mentor junior PMs and conduct performance reviews.
• Span of Control: Regular communication with Clients, Portfolio Management teammates, Relationship Managers, Credit Risk Managers, etc.
