This role facilitates decision-making and analysis of all types of credit information to support lending decisions and processes for the bank. It involves maintaining a client service environment to satisfy and exceed customer needs, making credit decisions in accordance with sound credit-granting principles, and ensuring compliance with Bank Policies & Procedures.

  1. Establish cross-selling initiatives to increase client penetration.
  2. Apply deep expertise in bank products, processes, and systems; troubleshoot to ensure high-quality client experiences.
  3. Coordinate closing processes with clients, attorneys, and closing departments.
  4. Serve as a daily escalation resource to meet or exceed client expectations.
  5. Act as a trusted advisor to the assigned business/group.
  6. Influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives.
  7. Recommend and implement solutions based on issue analysis and business implications.
  8. Conduct independent analysis to resolve strategic issues.
  9. Help determine business priorities and sequencing for strategy execution.
  10. Act as the SME for internal/external stakeholders.
  11. Participate in developing financial models and analytical tools for client evaluation.
  12. Design and produce reports and dashboards.
  13. Stay current on financing trends in target markets and communicate insights to team members.
  14. Lead or participate in communication plans to influence behavior, develop messaging, and identify channels.
  15. Oversee preparation of concise, well-reasoned credit correspondence.
  16. Coordinate lending proposals and pitches to maximize penetration and returns.
  17. Negotiate transactions and provide deal structuring expertise.
  18. Oversee documentation and ongoing monitoring of assets and client performance.
  19. Manage workflow of analysts as needed.
  20. Provide financial analysis and risk assessment for new and existing customers.
  21. Partner with internal stakeholders for detailed client information.
  22. Develop credit information to inform lending decisions.
  23. Assist in negotiations of loan terms via phone and email.
  24. Prepare summaries and opinions on creditworthiness.
  25. Minimize risk exposure by adhering to credit policies and procedures.
  26. Contribute to operational programs planning and implementation.
  27. Build effective stakeholder relationships.
  28. Focus primarily on business/group within BMO, with potential enterprise-wide focus.
  29. Provide specialized consulting, analysis, and technical support.
  30. Exercise judgment to diagnose and solve problems within rules.
  31. Work independently on non-routine situations.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 5-7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
