Role Overview:

Searching for a credit-focused professional with strong underwriting skills and experience in a commercial lending environment. The ideal candidate has formal credit training, experience analyzing mid to large corporate companies, and will support deal execution by assessing credit risk, preparing underwriting materials, and navigating transactions through internal approval processes. A solid understanding of commercial credit fundamentals and attention to detail are essential. Experience in non-bank lender space is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Facilitates decisioning and analysis of all types of credit information to support lending decisions.
  2. Maintains a client service environment to satisfy and exceed customer needs.
  3. Makes credit decisions and recommendations in accordance with sound credit principles and bank policies.
  4. Leads and executes business development plans to achieve or exceed business goals.
  5. Improves service levels and client satisfaction through process improvements.
  6. Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
  7. Recommends strategies and new initiatives based on in-depth business understanding.
  8. Manages resources and leads strategic initiatives to meet business and financial goals.
  9. Develops business cases by identifying needs, analyzing options, and assessing ROI.
  10. Partners with internal stakeholders to develop customer presentations and proposals.
  11. Coordinates database management, ensuring data alignment with governance standards.
  12. Leads change management initiatives, including assessments, planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  13. Creates comprehensive credit structures to meet client transactional needs.
  14. Collaborates with stakeholders to generate ideas, identify solutions, and pursue marketing efforts.
  15. Provides financial analysis and risk assessment of customers.
  16. Prepares credit information for lending decisions on new, renewal, and extension loans.
  17. Assists in negotiations of loan terms via phone and email interactions.
  18. Prepares summaries and opinions on creditworthiness.
  19. Minimizes risk exposure by adhering to credit policies.
  20. Contributes to operational program planning and implementation.
  21. Builds effective relationships with stakeholders.
  22. Serves as a resource to senior leaders and operates enterprise-wide.
  23. Addresses complex or ambiguous situations with creative solutions.
  24. Implements changes in response to industry trends.
Qualifications:
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Professional with industry knowledge and experience.

Additional Information:

Salary range: $120,000 - $222,600. Pay type: Salaried. Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation may include incentives and bonuses. Benefits include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans. More info: Total Rewards
