Job summary

World Wide Technology is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee intake, tracking, and execution of projects within a designated work group. You will maintain project management systems, run status meetings, and provide reporting on workload and progress.

You will collaborate with senior leaders, PMs, engineers, and field teams to monitor portfolio health, align with priorities, and support asset tracking. Proven leadership and technology portfolio management experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in a Portfolio Manager or similar position.
  • PMP certification through PMI.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and track record managing complex project portfolios.
  • Experience running complex VMware programs and coordinating stakeholder environments.
  • Experience with Global Financial customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong data analytic skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Projects (Excel, Word, Access, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
  • Expert knowledge of MS Project.
  • Expert knowledge of project management principles.

Overview

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing and supporting the intake, tracking, and execution of projects and work efforts within a designated work group or department. This role ensures operational efficiency by maintaining project and work management systems, facilitating recurring status meetings, and providing clear reporting on team workload, performance metrics, and project progress. The Portfolio Manager partners closely with senior leaders, project managers, engineers, and field teams to monitor the health of the portfolio and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. Additionally, this role may assist in managing the asset database and tracking assets deployed in the field. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership capabilities and experience managing a technology portfolio.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project portfolio aligned with organizational strategic objectives
  • Work closely with directors to prioritize projects based on business priorities, resource constraints, and risk considerations
  • Optimize resource allocation across the project portfolio to ensure alignment with strategic goals and efficient utilization of resources
  • Assist in establishing project governance processes and standards to ensure consistency, transparency, and accountability across the project portfolio
  • Demonstrated ability to develop requirements, adhere to schedules, develop and execute project plans, meet deadlines, and operate under tight time constraints
  • Leverage your expertise to manage a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring seamless execution
  • Develop and implement project plans, managing resources and timelines to meet business objectives
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, delivering exceptional service and support
  • Drive process improvements, identifying opportunities to enhance project management practices and contribute to the growth and development of the team
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a Portfolio Manager or similar position
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification through Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Strong leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex project portfolios
  • Experience running complex VMware programs and/or coordinating complex stakeholder environments (Client, Partner, OEM, etc.)
  • Experience working with Global Financial customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas to different audiences and levels
  • Strong data analytic skills
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office Projects (Excel, Word, Access, SharePoint, Power Point)
  • Expert knowledge of MS Project
  • Expert knowledge of project management principles
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a wide range of personnel, from field level to senior management, and with clients in other operating units and external customers
  • Ability to devise and implement processes
  • Knowledge of the operation of electric utilities
  • Knowledge of IT operations

Salary Range

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. The current base pay range for this position is $145,600-$182,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs.
