Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Portfolio & Financial Manager to support the Digital IT organization’s strategic planning, financial governance, and project portfolio management. This role will lead budgeting, forecasting, vendor oversight, and portfolio reporting activities while ensuring alignment between IT initiatives and business strategy.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen, project portfolio expertise, and the ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across the IT organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for IT operating expenses (OPEX), capital expenditures (CAPEX), and chargebacks
- Ensure financial compliance with company guidelines and procurement policies
- Monitor budget performance and ensure projects remain on‑time and on‑budget
- Analyze financial trends and provide recommendations for cost optimization and vendor rationalization
- Conduct ROI, payback, and cost‑benefit analyses for IT initiatives
- Develop, maintain, and promote standardized processes for managing traditional and agile projects
- Facilitate annual IT planning and portfolio prioritization
- Establish evaluation criteria for project selection and approval
- Identify interdependencies and risks across the project portfolio
- Monitor and report on portfolio health, including schedule, budget, risk, resource utilization, and benefit realization
- Partner with Procurement to analyze vendor contracts, financial performance, and service delivery
- Review contract status and historical financial data to inform sourcing strategies
- Track vendor billing and ensure alignment with approved budgets
- Support vendor negotiations and optimization initiatives
Reporting & Executive Support
- Develop dashboards and executive‑level reports on portfolio performance and financial metrics
- Support IT leadership in preparing presentations and strategic communications
- Track and report on KPIs and OKRs aligned with organizational goals
Process Improvement & Leadership
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation within IT governance processes
- Coach project managers, scrum masters, and IT leaders on portfolio and financial management practices
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable project plans
- Collaborate across departments to align IT initiatives with broader business priorities
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or procurement
- 2–3 years of experience in project or portfolio management
- Experience leading or mentoring team members
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost accounting, and financial modeling
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with SAP and Power BI
- Knowledge of project management methodologies (PMI, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
Preferred
- Experience supporting IT or technology organizations
- Familiarity with cloud services and IT infrastructure environments
- Experience working in global or matrixed organizations
